Houses on these gently rolling sites will be positioned along the wooded edge at the rear of each lot, facing broad open meadows.
Nestled among the Preserve’s higher forests, these sites offer incomparable views of the nearby valleys and distant mountains. The stone and wood of the rocky forest environment should inform designs for homes on these sites.
Asheville's Premier Conservation Neighborhood
Teeming with native flora and fauna, the tranquil coves and mountainsides of Drovers Road Preserve are home to a bounty of plants. Carolina Hemlock, beech, hickory, and a half-dozen rare plant species are scattered amid the old-growth forest. Preserving these natural resources as well as the area’s historic artifacts defines the Drovers Road mission.
This ecologically and culturally inspired vision governs all Drovers Road design planning. Every homesite is bordered by the Preserve, in easy proximity to one of the property’s three mountain streams. Meandering roads encourage reduced speeds and increased enjoyment of the natural splendor, and trees removed for roadways are used in the construction of site amenities.
Homesite areas are organized around the property’s three signature features: Meadows, Mountains, and Woodlands.
Set among lush stands of oak and hickory, these sites offer a perfect combination of breathtaking views and comfortable seclusion. Homes will be primarily of wood, to be at one with the surrounding vegetation.
